Practice teaching for the students in schools outside the campus is the part of curriculum of B.Ed. course. The trainees observed 5 lessons taught by the concern teachers and learnt the teaching methodology and techniques adopted by them. Student teachers went for Practice teaching as two phases from 31.08.09 to 11.09.09 and 05.10.09 to 14.11.09 for the year 2009-2010

‘Citizenship Training Camp' was organized from 30.09.2009 to 04.10.2009 at Karapparai village, Thindal. It was a residential camp. Students involved in various social service activities from 5.00 am to 9.00 pm. Guest lectures were arranged on the following topic like Modernisation in Education, balance diet, first aid, role of teachers in society, Usage of 108 ambulances. Students visited old homage in Rangampalayam and Blind school in Perundurai. The following activities were conducted during the camp period.

• Electricity repair work
• Black board Painting
• Fitted water pipeline
• Street cleaning
• Tree plantation
• Awareness programmes on Fire and Rescue by Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Service, Erode.
• Awareness programmes on Environment.
• Literacy Programme for village people
• Cultural programmes involving the village people.

Thus, the students gained the concept of social awareness, social integration, citizens' rights, social service and social thoughts and actions.

SCHOOL ADOPTION

Bharathiyar Universitys plan, "ONE COLLEGE ADOPT ONE SCHOOL" was immediately implemented. We adopted the Panchayat Union Primary school at Karapparai. Our Secretary, Thiru S.D.Chandrasekar presented the Adoption Certificate to the school Head Master on 20.12.2008.

The College has started to bring out half-yearly newsletter ‘VCE News' from September 2005.

LIBRARY

The library includes around 8000 volumes of books and 50 subscribed journals. The library will be enriched every year by adding of books and periodicals and will be computerized with Internet facility.
